Professor Mohamed Ali Ismail is currently a teaching Professor and Chairman of  the Statistics Department at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. Dr. Ismail earned his PhD in Statistics in 1994 from Wales University, UK. His research interests include constructing composite indicators, time series and dynamic modeling in general, with particular emphasis on Bayesian methodology, multiple seasonality, applied econometrics and applications of Statistics in the social sciences. Dr. Ismail has authored and published over 60 papers and technical reports on these topics. He has organized sessions and talked in several international scientific conferences. He has taught and organized more than 20 tutorials and short courses. Dr. Ismail has also served as a consultant to a wide range of organizations and institutions including the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet and Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). He is a member of the International Statistical Institute.
